"Hotel is a great location, lovely walk into the city centre or catch the bus. Staff are so friendly and extremely helpful. Bedrooms are spacious and clean. Breakfast os tasty and plentiful. The only thin that lets the hotel down is the outside, aesthetically its not the nicest looking hotel once inside its absolutely fine. Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again."

"The hotel appeared very nice on first impressions. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was large, clean and tidy with a lovely river view. The only negative was the pillows were very flat so next time would ask for extras or bring my own. Very nice hotel would highly recommend. Excellent location in the centre of York."

"Booking in was very easy and friendly. All our special requests were granted. The room was clean and fresh. All staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Pizza in the garden was excellent as was a cheese platter. More than enough to eat and very tasty. York being the home of the Kit-Kat, there were free chocolate treats in the room and plenty more for the asking - a highlight of our stay!! All in all, the service was exemplary. Highly recommend the Churchill with absolutely no reservations."

"What a gorgeous hotel! When we travel we are always on the go. But staying here made us want to linger in the dining room and in the lounge. And we were so surprised that we couldn’t hear the trains at all. The location was perfect, also."

"Helpful host, good breakfast and ideally situated. Parking on the road next to guest house, permit available through host. Only downside was the room and bathroom were very small, with a sloping roof. Having said that we would go back, just ask not to have that room."
