Perfect home in Boulder Junction

From the moment we arrived until we left Sweet Emma’s was clean, so very well equipped, and right in the heart of Boulder Junction. Our family was so pleased with this northwoods vacation property!

Relaxing Getaway

We couldn’t have found a nicer place for a relaxing getaway! The home was so cute, so clean and had everything you would need. It felt like I was visiting my Mom, a place full of love! It was right next to the many bike trails Boulder Junction has and restaurants and shops. Fran was the best host and we will definitely come again!

Centrally located for fishing and sightseeing

North woods stay

Clean clean clean!!! Well equipped kitchen. The only drawback is that it’s right on a busy road. That said we would stay again for sure

Great stay!

We had plenty of space for our group of 7. The home is well equipped with ample supplies for cooking and day to day comforts. The location was perfect for our fishing outtings, as well as bike rides to the park and ice cream! The fairy garden was a delight for our granddaughter! Thanks for your hospitality Fran!

Incredible Cabin

We stayed a week and loved every minute. The cabin is amazingly well stocked. The kitchen has every conceivable thing you could need for cooking. The cabin is much bigger than the picture show. The river is amazing and there are so many boat options right on the property. It was a great kayak to Boulder Lake. We would stay here again in a heartbeat

Feels like Home

We had amazing time at Sweet Emma’s! Fran really pays attention to detail and cleanliness! Snowmobile trail right across the road, plenty of room in the driveway for our trailers, was just a great weekend and Sweet Emma’s (Fran) made that possible for us!

The inside of the house was clean. The outside was kind of a mess with the owner rooming the property almost daily even having lunch at the picnic table. One evening spraying deer spray which smelled awful.

Relaxing Get-a-way!

Comfortable house that felt like home. Fran has the kitchen well supplied so it was easy to prepare meals. Beds are comfortable. No AC down stairs but ceiling fans and other oscillating fans kept air moving. Cool evenings also made this a non issue. Wasn’t expecting the house to be as close to the main road but Boulder Junction is a small town that quiets down early evenings. Overall we had a great week!

Outstanding Vacation Home

The property manager had a tremendous attention to detail for this vacation home. Lots of thoughtful little touches such as multiple room humidifiers for our winter stay, little LED flashlights in almost every room (not that we needed them) and a kitchen that was extremely well outfitted with high quality appliances and cookware. Notes and instructions made using the place a breeze. The house was very clean. It is obvious she takes great pride in the property. It is conveniently located close to downtown Boulder Junction.

Full of vintage charm and absolutely spotless!

Fran could not have been nicer to work with and Sweet Emma’s was just perfect. The home is loved and well-cared for. Chock full of vintage charm. We’ve stayed in many vacation rental homes over the years, but never have we enjoyed a home as clean and well-equipped as Fran keeps Sweet Emma’s. Beds and linens were clean and comfortable, too. Nothing was lacking. Lots of towels and linens, and the kitchen was well stocked with all you need as far as dishes, cutlery, small appliances and cookware, including a nice and complete set of pots and pans. All paper products, trash bags, foil, wraps, S&P, sugar and several other kitchen staples were available, and didn’t look like a jumble of odd left-behind items. It all appeared to be thoughtfully provided. I’d say if there was a partular item you especially needed, just to check with Fran to see if it’s already there before you pack it and haul it along. Our first morning there, a beautiful pair of bald eagles flew straight down the river right in front of me. On our last evening, while sipping wine on the screen porch, a doe and her newborn fawn spent some time between us and the waters edge. Enchanting! We only had time to stay for two nights on this trip, but three would have been more relaxing. Only thing is, by then I’m pretty sure we would have wanted to stay forever.

Communication is Very Good!

I am unable to comment on the property itself or the area as I was hospitalized the afternoon before my proposed stay. The property owner was very good with communication, she had actually called me to tell how to check in to the home and all of the important information we needed to know. Communication continued to be good after I notified them I was unable to attend. I wish I could comment on the property itself as I was very much looking forward to spending time in the area.

Great Weekend Getaway Spot

Fran, thanks for your hospitality. Sweet Emma’s was perfect for our long weekend trip to Boulder Junction. The house was great for four of us, and we enjoyed drinking wine on the pier after riding the bike trail. Access to the trail was fantastic!

Perfect Northwoods Getaway!

The property was absolutely beautiful, just off of a small stream with a pier, the kids took kayaks down to a joining lakes. We saw deer daily including an albino. We enjoyef bonfires outside several nights. The home was very cozy and spacious, plenty of room for the 5 of us. We had everything we needed and then some. Fran was wonderful, very welcoming and accommodating. Beautiful gardens surrounding the house, and within walking distance of the downtown, the Ice Shanty and just down the road from Gooch's - one of our favorite restaurants. Hope to stay here again.Wish we could never leave. Thank you, Fran!!
