“Two separate electrical faults. One caused a flame to shoot out the wall melting the wires in the kitchen socket, the other melted the wires in the immersion heater meaning no hot water for several days. A door fell off in the kitchen, and the upstairs landing storage heater wires had been cut and disconnected so it was freezing upstairs at night. I was told by the electrician that came out several times that the owner of the property liked to ‘tinker’ with the electrics hence the botched up……

“Warm, clean, well equipped, lovely Christmas decorations, great location, sufficient parking, secure bike store (once the key was delivered), plenty of room for people and their gear - and bonus points for supplying a tea pot (x2). Pretty perfect really - very well done. So impressed we have booked to come back.

“The Cottage was ideally located for lots of adventures and had a very homely feel. The Cottage has the benefit of off road parking and because there are really good amenities in Braithwaite together with the fabulous walks from the door ranging from a Wainwright to a gentle stroll around the village we didn't use the car. We particularly enjoyed the walk up Barrow and Outerside with our dog Toby. I'm sure we will be staying again.”

“A lovely cottage, newly renovated, with everything needed for us as a couple and our collie dog (I could see it being a bit of a squeeze for 4 adults though). It’s perfectly located for great walks from the doorstep and for eating out without driving anywhere. My only very minor niggle was the low level lighting and front hall security lights coming on every time you moved in the living room.
