All 3 pools were green with algae, and the jacuzzi was cold. They did a good job of cleaning the sargasso and making a usable space in the ocean. But bring water shoes. They did not stock my room with coffee pot. I had to ask for the bedding that was missing for the other beds, as well as for beach towels everyday. The regular buffet is 3 star. The other 2 restaurants never had reservations available so we had to eat the dry mediocre food from the regular buffet each day. The power kept going out for an entire day. No one took our luggage to our room. When we asked for a receipt at checkout, we couldn’t get that either, had to take a picture of the computer screen. The room was very clean, views amazing. No kayaks or other aquatic equipment available. Our room was excellent… just what we were looking for, steps from one of the pools and only a few more steps to the ocean! I loved the sunrises every morning! The staff were excellent, very kind and helpful! The buffet was amazing and lots of exciting dishes to choose from! Everything was clean and well cared for and we would recommend this place to anyone! The only thing I may add is that we found the majority of guests were French speaking therefore meeting new friends was difficult if you didn’t speak a 2nd language! Super friendly staff, professional, attentive, everything is clean and spotless. The FREE buffet breakfast is really decent and has a wide range of food. You can easily find American breakfast or Mexican style chilaquiles with eggs cooked to order. Bed is not really comfortable and we asked for some blankets but it is not a big problem. Parking is spacious. Beautiful beach view, walk straight to the beach in 1 min, Live music on certain night. We rented a car and took 15 mins every time we wanted to go to Avenida Tulum which is a busy street with shops, restaurants, pharmacies, etc. 10 mins from Xel-ha is a plus!
