Our anniversary at Casa de Luz was everything we expected. Very relaxing and enjoyable.

Casa de Luz is a beautiful house, very quiet and private with the hot tub being a big plus. The location was perfect for the Rio Grande Gorge, Arroyo Seco, Taos Pueblos and Taos historic district. We couldn't have asked for a more thoughtful and gracious host for our 40th anniversary. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Beautiful!!!

We loved Casa De Luz! Sharon was extremely hospitable and friendly. The property has a gorgeous view and a nice big fenced in backyard which my pups loved. It is a quick drive to town, but is still very secluded. I visit Taos often, but now will always check to see if Sharon's place is available first!

Lots of love for Casa de Luz

Perfect location for a girls weekend! Well appointed home with wonderful views, beautiful decor, and plenty of space to stretch out and relax. Sharon is communicative and responded in a timely manner to all of our questions and comments. We had so much fun and enjoyed the home so much this may turn into an annual trip!

Perfect relaxation

We had a truly wonderful stay. To start, you can tell that the owner put a lot of care into the home & preparation of info for travelers. Personal touches leading up to the trip & upon arrival were uniquely thoughtful. The house has such a beautiful view, is well maintained & stocked of amenities. The fenced in yards are great for both dog & small children to play. It was fun to also watch all of the birds that visit the back yard. We enjoyed the hot tub too! Location was great for us to get out & explore but also have privacy. I'd definitely recommend this rental.

Excellent house/Excellent location

We spent 2 weeks in Taos to get away and enjoy some nicer weather. This house was the perfect place and perfect location. At first we thought we wanted to be in town, but I am glad that we didn't choose that option. This house is about 10 minutes from town on the way to the ski village. It is well located and many things are very close by but it has the peace and quiet that we were wanting. The owner, Sharon, was great to work with. She communicated well and had a huge list of things to do in and around Taos. The house is very well stocked and the attention to small details is incredible. We brought things with us but we didn't need them as everything you could have needed was in the house. Oh and don't forget sitting in the hot tub in the evening while staring at the mountains and the stars; things city people like us don't get very often. We love the place and so will you! We plan to return and bring family next time.

Beautiful Stay

This was my second time (in just a few short months) at Casa de Luz. Sharon, the owner, provided a wonderful experience from the time I inquired about the vacation rental through my entire stay. She is warm, friendly and so helpful. The house is a perfect home base and has a special feeling from the moment you enter (you will learn about the concept of Hozho from the guest binder!). The house is super cute and has everything we could want was there for us to use. We cooked almost every meal for four days and found every dish and pan we needed. We enjoyed the satellite TV and whole-house sound system. The bedrooms are cozy places for relaxing and the bathrooms are decorated with Talavera tiles as a consistent reminder of "place" and are well-appointed (complete with shampoo, conditioner and body wash, and plenty of towels). The house was so clean and there was a little treat around every corner - literally - Hershey Kisses! Both in September and during this January trip, we made good use of the hot tub (located under an awning away from the intense sun). The fenced-in yards provide privacy and a sense of peace. During the summer, hummingbirds and other songbirds buzz around the yards. And not to disappoint, magpies and other birds kept us well entertained during our winter visit. At night, the sky is dark and the stars are aplenty - keep your eye out for the Milky Way! The house is located just outside Taos - the perfect distance away from town yet close enough to run into town for groceries, restaurants and sightseeing in the area. There is no shortage of things to see in the Taos area. And, Sharon provided a thorough and extremely helpful document about restaurants, sightseeing and shopping around Taos. She's amazing! I cannot think of any downsides to staying at Casa de Luz. It feels like a home away from home. I will be back!

Great House!

This was our second time to stay at Casa Luz. We're already looking forward to trip number three! As in the past the house was very clean. There is plenty of room to stretch out. The private hot-tub off the bedrooms is a great place just to hang out in the evenings. There were many hummingbirds which we enjoyed watching at the feeders in the backyard. The kitchen is well equipped. The beds are comfortable. There's a washer and dryer if you need it. There are flat screen TV's in the living room and in each bedroom, each with satellite reception. Both bathrooms are nice – one has a shower/tub – the other a shower. There is no airconditioning which I thought might be an issue, going to Taos in July – but it was not. On only one afternoon was it a little warm in the house but after we turned on a fan and opened a door and window the temperature actually become a little chilly! (Our previous stay was in cooler weather and we loved the radiant heat from the brick floors, especially in the mornings.) The owner has done her best to think of every conceivable need someone might have – she is very easy to get in touch with and checks in (via email) to make sure your stay is going well. She provides a menus of Taos restaurants and brochures of local attractions. If you have an issue she just takes care of it. For us the best part of this place is the privacy and location. There are neighbors nearby but only on one occasion in an entire week did we even hear them – and then for maybe five minutes. It is located just off the main highway going to the Ski Valley and is convenient to town. Within perhaps five minutes you can be in the northside restaurants – maybe ten minutes, at the most, to the plaza. The photos are representative of what the house is actually like. These are no surprises with this house. Rent it – you won't be sorry!

Relaxation with a Beautiful View!

I enjoyed watercolor painting and my husband played his guitar in this cool, gorgeous home. The beds and furniture were all super comfortable. Nice furnishings and yards. The host was very hospitable too!

Best kept secret in Taos!

Great place to stay! Perfect location. Easy access to town or the ski valley. Wonderful view. Clean, comfortable and roomy. Thoughtfully stocked with amenities. Beds were great. Towels were plushest we've ever seen. Can't wait to stay there again!

Great house near Taos!!!

We have stayed in many VRBOs and this on ranks near the top. It was easy to see that the owner has put a lot of thought into the decor, stocking and maintenance of the home. Everything was perfect. The location afforded scenic views and total privacy and quiet. If you are looking for the perfect Taos getaway spot, this is it!!

Family reunion in Taos

Casa De Luz is a beautiful home located in a great location of El Prado/Taos. It was a great place for a family reunion. The house was very clean and provided all the amenities. It was very easy to enter. Sharon as the host was available by phone and email to answer any questions. Also, she had provided lots of information about the area. All the decorations and touches made it very homey. The hot tub was a hit and in a perfect location to gaze at the endless sky at night. Will definitely rent again when back in the area!
