"This place was just what it is shown be - a converted chapel with all the amenities you could hope for. When you drive up, it is a little white chapel on a rise; when you walk in you still have the ambiance of the old chapel with all the modern conveniences of living today. The modern kitchen is a joy to use along with bright, clean bathroom, king size bed and even plugs on both side tables for your chargers. When we arrived, there was sourdough bread along with non-alcoholic sparkling "wine."...

"There was hair in the shower and sink. The shower liners looked dirty and much to long and hanging in the dirty water. Trash was left in the downstairs. There was no toilet paper, trash can liners, or soap for the shower. Multiple obvious mouse traps left the feeling there was a mouse problem that we may encounter- which we did not. "

"Not easy to find, get to. Beautiful place and view; hot tub was wonderful, beds very comfortable, the weather was lovely. The kitchen was clean, well equipped, and cozy. We enjoyed our time together in the cottage. The property could benefit from handrail on lower steps from driveway to upper deck and front door, garlic powder in spice rack, fire extinguisher in a more prominent location in case of fire emergencies."

This was our second trip, and even though we had one rainy day, we were able to enjoy our time together, culminating in eating dinner outside while enjoying a nice fire and watching the third Lord of the Rings movie. It was just cool enough to need a fire. All of us enjoyed it very much!"

"My wife, our adult son, and our cocker spaniel stayed here over a weekend. We had an event in Blowing Rock on Saturday and it was super convenient to get in town or to the Blue Ridge Parkway. The house was well stocked and had everything we needed. The Food Lion was minutes away, but we felt like we were in the mountains. It was a bit cold, but we used the outdoor grill and would have enjoyed sitting on the porch during warmer weather. Plenty of seating, a great kitchen table for board games...

"We enjoyed the place -- it is well set up for a mountain stay. Wood is indeed beautiful. Kitchen is great. Appreciated the various apps on the TV. Great location, very quiet except for the nearby construction. We would recommend you not go in cool -- or most definitely cold -- months. The place doesn't have central heat, which is fine, but the heaters it does have are simply not sufficient to keep the house warm. Not pleasant to come home to. "Just back from a spring getaway to beautiful Roan Mountain. This was our second stay at Kim and Art's lovely mountain cottage. Had a great time hiking with our dogs, who loved being off leash at the property. The cottage is clean, cozy and artfully decorated. Our hosts were warm and welcoming. The pool was a very comfortable temperature and the sauna felt good. They had a heavy snow early on the day we checked in, so we were glad to have a lower level to park in!"
