"Lovely breakfast and cooked to perfection. Lovely hosts. The room we had was good quality with access to a lounge with a very large selection of travel and art reference books..very nice"
"This was my first visit to York and the Ryedale cottages was the best place to stay while in the area. The house is lovely with comfortable beds, clean linens, and loads of games to play as a family. There are miles of walking trails and some cheeky sheep to see up the road.
The view from the front of the house was beautiful and the hosts were so lovely. We arrived with a bottle of champagne in the refrigerator and a Victoria sponge on the table waiting for us.
The kitchen is a bit narrow...
"We really enjoyed our stay here, the property was well equipped with everything you needed for a comfortable stay. I do think the property does need updating a little and it would have been nice if the hot tub had been filled on arrival, the hot tub also needs a cover as unless you like cold feb rain wouldn’t have been enjoyable. "
"Lovely country pub. Large comfortable bedroom. Beautiful outdoor seating area/gardens. Had a couple of great local beers but did not eat. Super friendly landlord and locals."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Feversham Arms. This is one of the most welcoming hotels. Staff are friendly and always great you with a smile and meet your needs on every request. The spa is wonderful, we used the facilities each day of our stay. The hotel is perfectly situated in Helmsley. It is opposite the Cleveland way, we walked to Rievaulx Abbey and back with was a lovely walk. Our Anniversary dinner was excellent, the flavours popped in your mouth and the whole culinary experience was unforgettable. A little jewel of a find, one we would certainly revisit. "
"Beautiful historical building, fabulous outdoor facilities. Peaceful and lovely chilled and relaxing environment. Easy walk to shops, restaurants and pubs. Huge bedroom with lovely decor."
"We have stayed at White Horse Farm Inn before and have enjoyed our time there. It doesn't pretend to be anything other than a lovely village inn.
It is a typical village pub of it's age and time. It has the most spectacular scenery as it's stands on a plateau up the hill on the road leading to Rosedale Chimneys. Absolutely beautiful!
Our room was the very large family one so we had plenty of space.
The staff were fantastic. Friendly Yorkshire folk, nothing was too much trouble.
The food was well cooked and there was a lot of it. (Smaller portions can be asked for) which we had.
Overall we were not disappointed and we would stay here again.
A beautiful part of North Yorkshire. Thank you"
"Getting a room for 3 is not always easy. We had two lovely rooms for 3 which my grandson loved as he didn’t have to share with his sister and Nana! Modern bathroom with walk in shower with good quality toiletries. "
"A splendid hotel, very comfortable and made extremely welcome. The room was fantastic and the shower very good. Although we already had plans for our evening meal elsewhere, we did have a lovely breakfast 😋 "
The best time to visit Kirkbymoorside is during the late spring and summer months, particularly June. This period sees the charming North Yorkshire town come alive with mild weather, typically ranging from the mid-60s to low 70s Fahrenheit, creating superb conditions for outdoor exploration and sightseeing.
From late May through September, Kirkbymoorside experiences a delightful peak in tourism, with visitors flocking to enjoy its scenic landscapes and nearby attractions like the stunning North York Moors National Park. This time of year is ideal for leisurely hikes, cycling, and enjoying the lush greenery that surrounds the town. The long daylight hours provide ample opportunity to engage in outdoor activities, and you'll find the atmosphere vibrant, with local events and markets adding to the experience.
For travelers who appreciate attentive service and quality experiences, June stands out as a wonderful month. The weather is pleasantly warm, and the town is less crowded than in July and August, allowing for a more relaxed experience while still enjoying the local charm. You can explore quaint shops, enjoy farm-to-table dining, and take in the beautiful countryside without the hustle and bustle of peak tourist season.
If you're looking for a more budget-friendly option, consider visiting in early October. During this time, you can still enjoy the stunning autumn colors while benefiting from lower accommodation rates and a quieter experience, ideal for those who prefer a peaceful getaway.
