Great location. Entire overnight stay was spoilt by poor quality lumpy pillows which meant we did not sleep well all night. When we complained management told us they were aware of problem with the pillows and were changing them throughout the hotel. Admirable but not much use for us

Unfortunately the room we were allocated was a tiny shoebox, could not swing a cat. One chair the only place for two of us to lay clothes. Its window also overlooked railway, so train noise was a problem. We were refused a change of room. Food excellent, particularly breakfast.

What a Gem. Fast friendly service. Food was excellent - nice to see a menu with something different on - not the normal Steak, Pies, Pasta or Fish. Not many places do Venison Mince and Dumplings. Pity I’m retiring - so the next visit will be for a social visit. Well done all.

The perfect place to stay in Tynemouth.
This Hotel has only recently been renovated and it has been completed very sympathetically and to a high standard. The room was very comfortable and had all the welcoming features such as a variety of complimentary beverages. I had to leave early so enjoyed a continental breakfast but would be in no doubt that the cooked options would be good quality too. The main bar area is extensive with the bar itself wrapped all the way around the lounge area. Tynemouth is also a gem and I will certainly be aiming to revisit and stay at the Castle again.
