“This has been one of the most special places I’ve ever been to. The sounds of the forest at night are surreal and can touch your soul. I’ve only spent one night at the cabin but I will never forget my time here. The cabins are super cute, clean, and comfortable. The short path to the lodge with bathrooms is marked by some torches on the ground at night. The sky cleared up in the middle of the night so I could enjoy the stars while walking to the lodge. AMAZING.”

“My family stayed here for a week for celebrations and a family reunion. The property is stunning and the hosts are kind, welcoming and well-informed on the area and property. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen extremely well-equipped (a vitamix!) The hosts are good communicators and I would highly recommend this place for a big group looking for lots of space in a remote area of Hawaii island. “This is a beautiful, large house designed and constructed in the 1930s for a wealthy Hilo family. The main interiors are dark wood, with original custom bannisters and similar craftsmanship, and the furnishings are period-correct. The present owners have upgraded in various ways, including adding in-room air conditioning (we didn't need, but it was nice to have the option), retrofitted bathrooms, kitchen, wiring, and similar.
