"Check-in was supposed to be at 4PM we didn’t get into our room until after 9PM, with barely any communication the entire time. When we finally got in, the bathroom was disgusting and clearly hadn’t been properly cleaned. Easily the worst hotel experience I’ve had. I wouldn’t stay here again."

"4 adults, 1 four year old, 1 1.5 year old. Didn’t have much communication with the owner, just because it wasn’t necessary. Everything worked and it was as-shown in the listing. House & property were clean, well-stocked, nicely decorated, and all of the furniture was comfortable. We did have to move some of the decor to the garage, because of our wild toddler, but it was super easy to do. Pool was cool & refreshing, we didn’t end up using the hot tub or fire pit. The BBQ was clean when we went to use it. Plenty of gas. Bedding was nice, shower was nice, water pressure is 100. This might sound crazy to point out, but if you’ve stayed in house rentals before, you know! The knives were sharp, so no problem cutting fruit, cheese, veg. Plenty of dishes that can brought to the pool, and for inside. It was a really nice 3 nights away in the desert. Would highly recommend going this property. Very close to town. "
"The property was as described in the listing. It was clean and very comfortable. We didn't get a chance to use the outside facilities since it was very hot, but they looked like great additions for guests. Ample towels were provided for showers and hot tub use. The kitchen seemed like it was updated recently and had everything we needed for our stay. An additional chair or stool would be a good addition in the living room so that us older folk don't have to squat to sit on a cushion, since there were 4 of us. We enjoyed our stay and were happy with our decision! The only downside was that the house is located on a busy road and is noisy - which is why the location was rated with a 4 - but it is close to the Joshua Tree National Park entrance. Thank you! "

"The Blue Ox Bungalow is a great starting point for exploration into Joshua Tree National Park. A short, easy drive to the North Entrance. Clean and comfortable lodging, clear communication from the owner and a short walk to the JTNP Visitors Center and other prime Twentynine Palms offerings. The traffic noise didn't wake the kids up and the place was otherwise ideal for our family spring break adventure."

"Very clean and easy to find. Everything I needed was laid out. My only struggle was with the Master Lock box, but then I'm pretty klutzy with contraptions like that. Therefore, that problem lies on me. Besides, Caitlin was very helpful and readily answered all my questions. questions "
"Just a few minutes to get into the National Park, and the NP visitors' center is just down the hill. The property is roomy and has all the amenities you would expect. The only problem was checking in. After we arrived, I realized that the key code had not been sent to us. I emailed the host through the APP and left 2 phone messages without hearing back. This was stressful for us, as my husband has dementia and does not do well with unexpected changes. After an hour, I contacted the VRBO help line and spoke to a very nice gentleman who was able to contact the host, who sent the code. The host also stated that our reservation should not have gone through because she does not allow dogs on the property. Her listing clearly stated "pet friendly" and specified a limit of 2 pets of less than 50 lb each. It is a nice enough home but we did not feel welcome."
"The whole place is comfortable and clean, just like the pictures. The sunrises are beautiful outside the front porch to the right. The sunsets are gorgeous by the pool. I would definitely stay there again without a doubt. It was too cold to use the pool, but if it wasn't I would have jumped in. I can't wait to rebook for the summer. The patio is big, there is a small reading/relaxing section and if you need to take care of work/business there is a desk for that too! "
