Nice unit in a good location
This is a very safe and well-maintained condo complex (198 units) with a beautiful central courtyard going from the office to the beach. The unit is very basically stocked (IKEA), very clean and spacious and enjoyed by the whole family. The deck is also very nice. Five gallon drinking water is delivered for $2. There is a small store on the property but there is also a small grocery store across the street, as well as many very good restaurants within 2-3 blocks. The beach restaurant TOC is also very good. Show your wristband for 10% discount. The complex has very good security and the neighborhood is well patrolled with police but I wouldn't walk far or alone. The beach is very nice and staff was very helpful with lounge chairs. Water temperature surprising comfortable (low 80's) and there was some seaweed but not excessive. Venders roam the beach but not aggressively. There are many excursions available on the beach as well as through the office. Yuri the concierge was extremely helpful. We took our own CDC approved online covid tests but Covid testing is readily available just outside the entrance. This was our first time to the DR and we felt this was a very good location to find. The units' internet was very limited, living room area only.

2 of the arcadia doors did not lock, notified manager and someone worked on it but did not fix/correct issue. BIG PROBLEM. Refrigerator stopped working the second week out of 2 and the same issue with door was repeated, someone showed up, but issue was never resolved.

Best bang for your buck around. Clean, comfortable, safe, and accommodating. Recommend upgrading the wifi would be the only gripe. Will definitely return again.

The condo unit was nice enough. The beach was a horrible stinking mess of rotting seaweed.
For our family of 5 the condo was roomy enough to accommodate all of us comfortably. It was clean, and updated. However, with a family of 5 visiting in June, we had to run the air conditioning. Even with as much conserving of resources as possible, our electric bill for the week was $96.00! The vendors on the beach are aggressive! Even the security guys with no real authority on the beach wanted to harrass us every 20 steps or so, to the point of one night touching my hair to see if I had been swimming, and running his hand down my daughters arm. I think if we had stayed up the beach farther, or stayed at an all-inclusive resort l, we might have had a better experience. Next time we will stay safe in Florida for our vacation.

Beautiful area
We had a wonderful time at Sylvia’s condo. The grounds were well kept and the beach was great. Lots of comfortable chairs both at the pool,which was great, and the beach. We had a few problems in the condo but Maria saw to them right away. Maria is great and looked after us very well, she goes out of her way to help with things. Nancy is at the desk and she is very helpful and pleasant too. The condo was very comfortable and a nice view from the patio. You don’t really need a car here because so many restaurants and small grocery stores are right within walking distance. If you want to go to larger grocery stores the bus stops right outside and is only about 20 minutes(40 pesos one way) We went there to get a large order at Jumbo but another time we went to Paolo which we liked better. You can take a cab back for $20 US if you have a lot of groceries. There is a money exchange across the street from the complex and they will exchange Canadian and US money at a much better rate than at home(they also exchange Euros)for Dominican pesos. Also in the complex is a couple that have a tour company Calibre,Edwar and Lise in F201 and they are very good to book with. Electricity is expensive in the DR but we didn’t need to run the air much as we got a nice breeze and the stove and tank are gas so our bill was only $60.00 for 28 days. There is parasailing down the beach and also a Spa boat you can walk to (it is wonderful). We definitely want to go back. On the beach is a restaurant that has great food especially their Toc burger and their breakfast we heard other food was good too—drinks were good too and they will serve you on the beach. Very pleasant waiters.It was a great vacation!!!!
