“We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. Maple Hill is a piece of living history and it was a privilege to stay there. The owners are excellent stewards of this absolute gem. Our room was huge and very comfortable. Every detail in the house is stunning. We took time to look at everything inside and outside so that we could absorb the beauty of the home and property. And the breakfast was BETTER than a restaurant! Getting dessert in the evening was such a lovely treat and a romantic……

“The first room we were given had some weird splatter on the ceiling, tv and floor. There was also a wasp in the room. We asked for a diff room this one was much cleaner but smelt like cat pee.”

“This property is like staying in Colonial Williamsburg. It is very old. The floors creek, the pipes sing in the night and there is little to stop any noise coming from other rooms. Beware the nails sticking out of the ancient hardwood floors! This is not very accessible if you have walking issues. Lots of uneven pathways. The drive out there is scary at night! Do not take the fastest route to get there from the airport- take the straightest way. But the place is exceptionally quiet and peaceful.……

“Close to downtown and several distilleries. The manager was very helpful and considerate. It is and updated older property that is clean and well maintained.”

“Room was clean and quiet overnight with comfy bed. Torn carpet in 1 area of room. Breakfast—good if you don’t have a gluten allergy. Would appreciate if egg, potato and sausage was labeled and a choice of cereal was Cherrios or Rice Chex, since both are gluten free.”

“We had reserved and paid for a 2 bed room but were given a single bed with a roll away. We were not given any advanced notice of the change and were not able to cancel and look for other accommodations. It was very hard to shower as the curtain did not reach the floor and had no barrier preventing the shower floor from flooding.”

“got two rooms. Checkin was fine. Room 1 was dirty including animal hair on bedspread AND on sheets all over. Bathroom floor was filthy. Room 2 - TV remote had to be reprogrammed, and then when TV was on, all lights in the room flickered, including bathroom lights. When TV was off, lights stopped flickering. Overall was a horrible experience except staff was nice. Left the hotel immediately, and still having trouble getting management to refund our room fees, even though we we only there for 30……
