This hotel is extremely well situated in the city, centrally located and 1 block from the subway station that takes to every corner of the city. The amenities are simple and sensible and work for prepared travelers. The rooms are snug, so pack light, and be prepared to adjust to this style of stay across Japan. The staff were absolutely wonderful, accommodating, informed, kind and very gracious. They were knowledgeable and helped me figure out so many different issues I had while traveling. I truly appreciated their wonderful attitudes and spirit. They were all very hardworking, cheerful and funny and I would definitely stay here again.

This is the first hotel during 3 week stay that was below average. We booked for 3 nights at end of trip bc of a NYT article saying it was good. Check in and out was easy and staff pleasant. Delicious cookie upon arrival. No real place to sit other than 2 stools where they keep guests luggage and rooms are so cramped you definitely can’t hang in them. Bed and pillows are not super comfy and hard to get in and out of. Towels are of low quality. Carpets need a cleaning. At the rate we paid $1200 for 3 nights we weren’t expecting luxuries but it felt very low end.
