Charming hotel. All kids (meaning very young staff) running the place. Quick check-in. They helped us with our luggage up the stairs. No elevators. Hot water in shower, There were enough blankets on bed for the cold at night. Breakfast is the same as all hotels we stayed in Peru (eggs, ham, cheese, basic bread, fruit, grain, yogurt, coffee, and tea). It served it's purpose and was convenient. Location close to plaza. Two issues arose on the last day. 1st-When our room was serviced, they took the entire pile of receipts my husband had in the corner next to his personal belongings. He confronted the front desk. 30 minutes later, they brought a pile of receipts which were mixed receipts with others. It was hard trying to figure out which ones were his and not. 2nd- I purposely reserved our room until 9/21 although our flight was 9/20 at 6:30pm and paid for the room in full. When checking out at 3:45pm we were questioned why we were checking out early and we would be charged an early check-out fee. My husband, a Spanish speaker, told them that is ridiculous and that we already paid a full rate. Other than that, our stay was OK.

The room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The floor however hadn’t been cleaned in a while. Check in was a bit slow but check out was quick and the bellhop was very helpful getting our luggage out to the car. Complimentary breakfast was good and the lobby always had hot tea and coffee available.

Beautiful property, beautifully restored and maintained, excellent breakfast, and very well located. Friendly staff. Highly recommend!

From the moment we arrived, the experience was uncomfortable. The lady at the front desk asked me unusual questions about the bathroom towels and warned me that if they were not used “properly,” I could be charged. This was not the kind of welcome I expected as a hotel guest. Later that night, the situation became even more concerning. A staff member knocked on my door late at night asking about a wallet that someone had apparently left behind. This made me question whether the room had been properly cleaned and checked before I was given the room. Unfortunately, the room itself had several serious cleanliness issues. I found long women’s hair on the bed sheets, what appeared to be dried blood inside the sheets, spider webs on the ceiling, and mold on the bathroom ceiling. These are issues that should have been identified and addressed before the room was given to a guest. I arrived very late that night and had an early flight the following morning, so by the time I noticed everything—around midnight—I did not want to go through the trouble of changing rooms or leaving the hotel. I did not initially complain to the receptionist because of the late hour and my early flight. However, I later showed the hotel staff the videos and pictures documenting the problems. They took the evidence, but I was not offered a refund, partial refund, compensation, or any other meaningful resolution. Overall, this was a very disappointing stay.
