Let down by lack of daytime facilities like coffee bar, pool bar or access to snacks

The purpose of our trip was to attend the 2026 WAWE Working Equitation World Championships. There were three of us in our party, so we stayed in the junior suite, which was very spacious and accommodated all three adults quite comfortably. Our room was excellent, the pool was beautiful, and the food at the restaurant was delicious—especially the outstanding breakfast. The location was also ideal: within walking distance of La Escuela and only 1 kilometer from the Stage 18 finish line of La Vuelta. The city center was walkable as well, although we preferred taking a taxi there and walking back. The only negative experience involved one server. During our first visit, he seemed reluctant to serve us. On our second visit, he took our drink order but never brought the drinks, leaving us waiting for approximately 30 minutes until another server came to assist us. She was wonderful and provided excellent service. Despite this isolated issue, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return.

ByPillow is an excellent small hotel for short trips. Front Desk is managed 24/7 (and thank God...we could never get the front door to open with the code). You use a code to get into the hotel and into your room, so no key/card to worry about. Room is small but that was expected. The room includes free, UNLIMITED drinking water, which is VERY helpful in the summer heat. Room was clean, with a comfy bed, and A/C worked amazing. Bathroom was very good. Our room window was toward the street and we were on the first floor (remember: ground level is floor zero here) but we could not hear any significant noise. Hotel is close to drinks/dining, shopping, el Mercado (for snacks and food not bread and jamon), and bus stations. Beach (we recommend La Caleta) was very accessible. Our only complaint was that one small towel had a strong urine smell when we checked in but we just did not use it and they changed it. Excellent all around!
