Sure, it has curb appeal. The front lobby has beautiful woodwork, as does the restaurant and staircase. The rooms appear to be period correct and the beds are comfy. But that charm and nostalgia quickly wear off when you discover there is no air conditioning. The windows only open 8 inches, limiting the amount of cool night air that can enter. There were no insect screens on the windows. There was only one dusty pedestal fan for the two bedrooms, so we had to request a second. You go to bed warm and wake up chilly. Housekeeping left a wet bath rag from the prior occupant hanging in the shower. Hairdryer in the room? Nope. According to the desk clerk, too many have walked off so they are kept behind the desk. No iron or ironing board in the room either. Our bathroom sink was the old style that mounts on the wall, so there’s hardly space to set your toothbrush, razor, toiletries, or makeup. The view out the back is of an aging house with wooden pallets stacked in the back yard. The hallway leading to our room was so dark that we had to use our phone flashlight to insert the key in the door. On day two of our stay we were informed by the desk clerk that their lobby coffee maker had broken and that the backup coffee maker had died three days prior. We could either make “pour over” coffee in our room to visit a nearby coffee shop. That solidified our decision to leave our 4-night, $1600 day stay after the 2nd night. I’ll take the $800 loss and stay elsewhere.

Very nice place except the for the bed. There was a cover on the mattress that was probably a stain protector and it was very uncomfortable to sleep on. The staff and the faculty was great, but the bed was really not comfortable.

The room was clean and had good amenities, I really like that they have hard floors in the room and not carpet. The bed was very comfortable.
