Stopover

Posted Jul 28, 2015
Pros: Close to the airport and it had all the services at the hotel.
Cons: Service in the restaurant was very slow.
It was a stopover for us because of flight schedules. Hotel was comfortable, clean and up to date.

Not close to the airport

Posted Jul 27, 2015
Pros: The air conditioning worked well
Cons: Decor not great and the beds were way too small for two people. We were told they were full beds but they slightly larger then twins
Location: In the middle of nowhere
We had a 12 hour layover at heathrow so booked an "airport" hotel. It was a 30 euro trip by cab because the shuttles don't run after 10pm. It was not close to the airport. When we arrived and got to our floor, the entire floor was pounding from a wedding party band. When we called the front desk they said not to worry because it would end at 1am. Having an early flight the next morning we insisted on another room. Finally got one but took quite a while.

Great staff but not as convenient as it sounds

Posted Jul 25, 2015
Pros: The service was excellent
Cons: Needs to make clear that the hotel is not actually at the airport but a few miles away.
Location: RHS Garden Wisly is a 20 minute car trip south on the M25/A3 . Fantastic day out if the weather is fine any season.
The staff were the most pleasing part of this hotel visit. All were very friendly and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. In particular , on the last night of our stay we celebrated our last night in England with a bottle of champaign, a wedding gift as we had come to the UK to upgrade our Civil Partnership to marriage. On mentioning this to our waiter, he arranged with the chief to present a slice of chocolate cake with 'congratulations' written in chocolate sauce on the plate. This was totally unexpected and a very nice surprise. The only down side of the hotel was its location. It's name suggests it's located at Terminal 5 but it actually is some miles from Heathrow. Access is via a car ( GBP 12 parking fee per night) or via a bus service (GBP 5 one way per person) . So it's ok for the night before leaving via Heathrow but any longer I'm sure there would be cheaper options. We stayed 2 nights and went to a show in the west end on the first night. To get to and from the hotel we thought we'd use the GBP 5 bus to the airport and the tube to Piccidilly. After the show took the Express train from Paddington to Heathrow to discover the last bus service to all airport hotels was at 11.15. The only way to the hotel was by taxi, and as the hotel is outside the orbital the fare was GBP 35 . Not all taxies were prepared to take credit cards or travel the short distance to the hotel.

Nice Hotel - substantial distance from Terminal 5

Posted Jul 24, 2015
Pros: The Indian restaurant is excellent - although expensive for a place where the food is often luke warm.
Cons: Better transportation link to Heathrow and video service in your rooms.
Location: Dull location with absolutely nothing to do near by...
This hotel is nice, the rooms are large and clean and there is an excellent Indian restaurant on site. However, it is not at Terminal 5 - you have to pay an additional 5 pounds and wait about half an hour for a crowded Hotel Hoppa bus to take you there - so allow plenty of time to return to the Terminal for flights the next day. There is also no movie service in the hotel - they decided to discontinue it. SO it seems like a good deal compared to the Sofitel, but you are actually getting less and will have to spend at least an extra hour of exhausted post-flight time getting to your room.

New remodeled rooms!

Posted Jul 21, 2015
We stayed here for just one night so as we had a 13 hour lay over. We were very pleasantly surprised when we checked in. The staff was super nice and the lobby was nice, clean and modern. Our room was very nice and SPACIOUS. It was clear everything had been recently renovated. The overall look was modern and chic and it made our long layover not seem so bad at all. I would highly recommend this hotel to travelers who need to be close to Heathrow

Hilton Heathrow Terminal 5 is NOT at Terminal 5!

Posted Jul 20, 2015
Pros: We like the room and the bed was very comfortable.
Cons: Better transportation service to airport.
Location: The hotel is actually in a nearby town with nothing around the vicinity. It is very inconvenient for an overnight stay at the airport.
We were surprised that after we arrived at Terminal 5 of Heathrow airport that there was no information about Hilton -- the only hotel at T5 is Sofitel. We had to drag our luggages to find a long list of shuttles that go to various hotels. The shuttle for Hilton took a long time to arrive, and it charged 5 pounds for each person. The next day we took a taxi back to terminal 3 and it cost 30 pounds. Next time we will simply stay in London, and ride the Heathrow Express to the airport without bothering to stop over here. It didn't save time or money.

I booked through expedia website, there was an offer price for a room. What the website did not tell me was the room was for disabled clients. Nothing wrong with the room, except I would have preferred the option or at least be made aware via expedia.

Don't rent rooms when air conditioners not working

Posted Jul 13, 2015
Pros: Nice lobby good size room generally very nice.
Cons: Don't rent rooms with malfunctioning air conditioner. At 1:30 am. When your dog tired you just live with it.
Location: Unkown
Title says it all!! The hotel is a 5 pound bus ride or if after 11 pm. a 35 pound cab ride. Take that into account when evaluating cost.

ok for overnight before flying out

Posted Jul 3, 2015
Pros: proxmity to the airport
Cons: Service
Location: close to airport
communication between front desk etc. led to confusion on whether or not guests were staying at the hotel or not. Likewise when phoning.
