Friendly service and convenient location to Cruise ships

We chose this hotel for convenient access to the cruise ship dock which was an easy 10 minute walk away. Service was friendly and on arrival our accommodation had been upgraded to a suite. Several excellent restaurants in the vicinity

I would rate this hotel on the par of a Comfort Suite but with a much higher price.

There was a coffee pot in the room but if you used it you had to pay for the coffee. Even the cheapest chain has free coffee in the rooms.

Not a good choice, even for business

First of all, good luck trying to find this place, even with GPS. You might look The Aston, but NO ONE knows it by that name since they just changed over early this year. Maybe someone knows ResortQuest, but they will probably think of the other one on the other side of Waikiki, and woe unto those that figure out that until too late. Only if you are looking (to include on the street) for Executive Center will you find this place, who’s ’lobby’ is equally well hidden (hint: the unmarked escalator on the busy city street that goes underground). Then you can try to find the overpriced parking lot, park in your reserved ’unreserved’ spot on the 9th floor, have to take one elevator back down to the lobby, and a completely separate elevator up the floors of this ’hotel.’ The view from the penthouse where they serve their continental breakfast is a wonderful view of downtown and the piers, and you’ll have plenty of time to take it in, since they won’t waste your time with much, you know - food. Finally, the internet didn’t fully work and the cable TV was also spotty, but after a couple of hours of guys in my room trying to fix it, I was glad that they charged my bill for the calls to said maintenance folks. The people at the front desk removed the charge, and while all the staff is very friendly, a hotel this is not, and the owner should stick to apartments, since that is apparently all he or she knows.

downtown only

The hotel is located right in the heart of downtown, and is a great place to stay if your intended destination (i.e. work) is the downtown area. Not much for the tourist, though.

Lacking certain amenities.

Room had hot plate but no micro. Fridge but no ice machine in the bldg. Two double beds but only one club chair with ottoman. No room service. Restaurant in lobby was closed on weekend. Some great restaurants in the neighborhood but not mentioned in list that came with room.

Traveler's tip on dining

Had a great dinner at Epic. Also wonderful brunch at Grand Cafe & Bakery. Both walking distance in Chinatown. Also grocery/produce markets close by.
