Could be cleaner

Hotel is quaint and cute, but getting a little run down. There were stains on the bedspread and the sofa cushion. Breakfast was not very exciting, and there is a note that they will charge you if you use anything in the kitchen and don’t clean up--most hotels do that at no charge. The convenience of the location is good, but should be priced a little lower considering what you get.

Comfortable hotel, be picky about which side your room is on.

THe hotel is a gem of a location, staff very helpful. Our room was very noisy in the evening as it looked over the neighboring poolside courtyard of an apartment building. Wed. night was very noisy, Thursday we were so tired it did not matter, Friday evening was noise ALL night long. Even with the windows shut and A/C going full blast, you could still hear one loud person in particular. Finally quieted down around 5 am. I will most probably go back because of the location, I will try to make sure my room is on the other side of the hotel. I did inform the desk personnel on my checkout. She asked if I had notified them of the problem. I did not because I felt that they probably could not do anything about this.

Wonderful Experience

An outstanding stay provided by an outstanding staff! I will make it my first choice upon return to the area. The only downside was the price (although free parking and breakfast mitigate this somewhat). It would be nice if they offered discount codes as some of the nearby competitors.

The subway is within about 1/4 mile walking distance. A $5 dollar day pass can take you to an amazing array of interesting sites. I found the subway to be very clean and on time.

what a location!

Hotel was central to all of the sights we came to see - near highways and major attractions. Walked around the corner to Hollywood Blvd to see movie premiers, walk of fame, malls. Hotel mgmt was very friendly and helpful. Suite had plenty of room, but walls a little thin - noisy guests in next room some nights.

A solid little gem!

The hotel is a great little place to stay as it is situated literally seconds away from hollywood blvd and most other major attractions. Even though it is only a 3 star hotel, its very clean, staff are great and rooms are very comfortable!

Good Value, Good Location

The Hollywood Celebrity Hotel is located very close to the Walk of Fame and Mann’s Chinese Theater. If you’re looking for an economical place to stay, this is a good choice. In order to get out of their parking lot, you have to back out onto a busy street. That’s a bit challenging, but doable. Accomodations were good. It’s an older hotel probably needing new pipes... because we competed with the neighbors for warm water in the morning! Very clean. Good service. A good value.

Second time in this hotel.

I decided to take one member of my family to visit Hollywood and different neighborhoods of LA. We were 4 to spend the night. Spacious room with everything, pretty clean but needs remodeling (old fashion). Continental breakfast included in the price and enough to please everybody. You’re also allowed to take it in your room. The lady at the check-in is very helpful and courteous with customers. I’m ready to go back for a third time when we will have family coming from Europe for visiting.

There’s a couch in the living room, make sure the people who will sleep on it, do not have back problems otherwise, they will get some.

Hollywood star walk

If you are going like me, like lightning I would recommend it. If you want to be absolutely near the Kodak Theater, I would recommend it. But it is kind of old. On the other hand the staff was absolutely fabulous and extremely helpful, and they give coffee and pastries for breakfast which is great because none of the restaurants there open early.

Fine hotel near Hollywood.

The hotel was sufficiently clean. The staff was nice and was very helpful. The room was comfortable. The only complaints were 1) loud noise coming by neighboring hotel (up to 9-10 pm, during 4th of July), 2) the refrigerator does not work well, 3) We did not get replacement plastic cup to be used in the room and 4) Parking can be limited. Would recommend to friends and family members.

Hollywoods’ Best Cozy Home

I stayed there with my 88-years gland mother and my parents. Because my granma could not go out so often, I chose the room with a kitchen. My choice was correct. Kitchen was clean and easy to use, and most importantly, staffs were very very kind to us. I definitely use this hotel again.

Yeah, we’d probably go back.

A little noisy between the room next to us and the hotel next door. No big frills. Free parking, but be sure to ask the front desk for the parking pass to put in your windshield. Parking is small, first come first served. Bring comfortable walking shoes. Our room didn’t have the nifty painting on the wall behind the bed.

Walking up and down the Walk of Fame was interesting, especially as the evening wore on. Walking around the Kodak Theatre and all the shops were nifty!

Excellent location, clean & comfortable!!

We just got back from LA and stayed at the hollywood celebrity hotel. The location is great. The quiet side street is away from the traffic noise. A quick shortcut through the back entrance of the Hollywood & Highland takes you right to the Kodak & Chinese theatre! The hotel is very clean & well kept. Our room and bed was very comfortable and very spacious. Our room did not have a kitchen but a small area with a table and mini fridge-no microwave. There is free tea & coffee 24 hrs in the lobby and a microwave. There is a free continental breakfast 8-10 every morning (bagels, juice etc). The hotel is very good value for money: clean, comfortable and good location. There is no pool & parking is very limited. There is an exercise room, ice machine and a computer with free internet access in the lobby. The staff are extremely friendly- even booked our taxi. I would recommend this hotel and would return.

See a movie at the chinese Theatre- it still shows movies & costs as much as a regular theatre! It’s gorgeous inside! Book a tour with LA city tours(office opposite the street from the hollywood & highland). Starline tours is another company based around the hollywood & highland.

Hollywood Celebrity

This is a very clean hotel in on a quiet street. The breakfast was eh..., just muffins and bagels, but free coffee is good enough for me (and they have a fresh pot pretty much around the clock). Having a kitchen was nice, my son could reheat his pizza for a snack the next evening.

Go right when you exit the hotel from the front and you will find the back entrance to the mall (an air conditioned cut-through for walk of fame) is at the end of the street. Also, you must eat at Mel’s Diner (short walk from the hotel). Great food, great price, good atmosphere for kids.

Great value in heart of Hollywood!

Although Hollywood Celebrity Hotel is basic in it’s rooms,and is an older hotel,it fits the needs of a traveler that wants to be in the absolute heart of Hollywood! It is one block north of Grauman’s Chinese Theater,2 blocks to the Kodak Theater,and The Hollywood Highland Center with specialty shops,restaurants,and top floor an awesome view of the Hollywood Sign! Also,just 3 blocks from Wax Museum,and Ripley’s!! Rooms are basic,nothing fancy,except for portraits of Gene Kelly painted on the walls.Best of all,parking is free,(most other hotels close to Hollywood Blvd and beyond charge between $10-$15 per night!!) Great value if you want to be close to Hollywood,and just need a place to crash for the night!!

A warning to parents traveling with young kids: The area between Grauman’s,Kodak Theater,to Wax Museum are PG rated. After that area, you run into countless tatoo parlors, adult book stores,lingere and stripper supply stores,and the occasional pimp yelling at their girls! That area not recommended for under 16 age!

Great Place in Los Angeles

The hotel’s location is great for tourists. The environment is good and silent. And the service is perfect.

Central & Clean

The hotel was in a great location, with excellent access to the train and the Kodak centre where there was plenty of shops and restaurants. The rooms were big and clean with well equiped kitchens. Friendly hotel staff. Our stay was a little noisey, but you can’t help who else books into the hotel at the same time as you....

The location was great

Used the Prime Time Shuttle company to book all transfers from LAX to hotel which went off without a hitch. The hotel itself was clean, staff friendly and free internet service. We asked to be moved from the stairs because of the noise and there was no problem with this request. Very efficient! You cannot beat the location though directly behind the Kodak Theatre and underground railway station.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Starline tours have a tour to Disneyland etc and will pick you up from your hotel also recommend their hop on hop off tour. Also transport to Universal Studio’s is one train stop away from the underground railway station so you can save on transportation costs. All in all a good stay.

You are treated like a Celebrity here!

The main reason I chose this hotel in Hollywood is based on the comments here, and the hotel did not disappoint me. It is a great location in Hollywood and easy to walk to several places. The staff couldn’t have been better at a 5 star hotel, no matter what time of day/night that you had questions. Excellent.

Within a block of a great shopping mall with restaurants etc. - find the back way from the hotel to get there and save yourself some time. Enjoy your visit, we did.

Clean, Roomy & Comfortable

The hotel was perfectly located to everything we wanted to do. The room was large with a large closet area, and a separate dining area with refrigerator and dining table in a separate room. The room was spotless.

Mel’s Diner is a great place to eat that is themed but reasonable. It’s also away from the crazy crowds of the galleria.
