"The Lion Hotel is ideally situated to explore Shrewsbury on foot and you can leave your car on the property, pay at the desk rather than the machine for £5 per day. It is a property that is both historic and with character, having said that the communal areas looked very tired. The room was spacious with a high ceiling, brown furniture and bare floorboards which squeaked with every step so be aware if you are prone to waltzing in your sleep."

There was also large stains on the carpet in the hallways which were wet - we assume they had been recently cleaned. Breakfast was ok - however they had ran out off pastries when we attended at 9.30\. Overall unlikely to stay again due to cleanliness/smell. "
