"The room itself was very good, comfortable bed and well laid out shower alcove. The view from the window was of a run down building, presumably previously a hotel which has given up the ghost. Check-in service CAN and SHOULD be better, with receptionist not keeping an eye on the line and letting people sneak in randomly and get their requests handled ahead of others. Description of property indicated parking availability but on arrival was told that spaces available are on a first come first...

"From the outside this hotel doesn't exactly ooze much charm or expectations. However, you don't judge a book by its cover! Surrounded by dozens of mega chain luxury hotels (Hyatt, Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental, etc.) within a walking distance this privately-owned property is reminiscent of "a little train that could..." "Very poorly managed. The washing machine was broken for most of our stay and we had to carry our laundry to a laundromat to get it done. I asked the owner/property manager at least 5 times to change the towels after we had been using them for a week! Only after I got angry with him, the towels finally arrived. The apartment is poorly furnished. Broken taped up side tables, non functioning plug sockets, one remote that needed to be used for two air conditioners, filthy floor mattresses and quilts...

"My hotel room and the rooftop infinity pool were both lovely, amongst the best I've ever encountered. The lobby shop is helpful for last-minute snacks. However, the concierge staff were clearly bored and it showed in their lack of customer service. They don't warn you in advance that they charge to store your bags. Also, the elevators are in such high demand that they have to post signs warning you that trying to access them between certain hours could result in a half-hour wait."
