My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the Otter Creek Inn. The Only minor complaint we might have was the size of the shower in unit #5 (the only one we know about). If you are a large person that shower may present an issue. Other than that, our week there was great. Dawn, the manager was always helpful and we shared a few laughs with Evelyn over morning coffee. Speaking of which, the "small" continental breakfast at the market is great. If you want to be out of the town to escape the madness of the crowds after a day of hiking/ shopping/ eating, then this is the perfect place for you. I mentioned the Market. Check prices there for some of the things sold in town. The Market price is much lower. Souvenir Maple Syrup was $5.99 in town and $2.99 at the Otter Creek Market for the exact same thing, just saying. :)

The hotel is located inside the University of Maine campus, which is quiet, safe, and has convenient parking. The rooms seem to be converted from student dormitories, so the layout is different from typical hotels. The bathroom in my room was exceptionally large, almost at a luxury mansion level, and the bed was also big. The room was clean with high ceilings, but there was no desk available for use, which was somewhat inconvenient.

It was beautiful inside and out. Would recommend 10/10. Very quiet location beds slept great and close to Bar Harbor

Room was clean and tidy and the outside property is beautiful. This is an old, historic inn that definitely needs some updates and a more hospitable check-in manager. No “hello or welcome”, he just said “step over here” (in a dark corner) and “I need the card you paid with”. I responded with “Hello how are you today?” Not a welcoming friendly vibe from the front desk staff who are as poorly dressed as the inn. It’s obvious this place is still open due to its weddings and event venues. Carpet in dining room stinks, mattresses and pillows are as old as the inn and breakfast is meh. At least wash the front outside stairwell - its a dirty, moldy eyesore.
