C J, the manager and Anthony, the maintenance tech both had awesome attitudes which helped get over a few things that went wrong. It has its rustic charm and I felt quite safe.

Ben was an amazing host. Playa Avellanas is very rural, and Ben guided us in right to his gate, no problem. Ben is super attentive, and was checking in with us frequently. Fantastic. Amazing natural beauty, a few very nice restaurants but otherwise quiet and safe in a gorgeous natural setting. The roads are all gravel or dirt. They are currently being repaired, but I'm sure they'll become very rough again.
We went to the beach close to the property, Playa Lagartillo. It's a nice and secluded beach about 5 min walk from the property. There are tide pools on the beach that the kids could play in. The beach also is a decent swimming beach.
