When we entered our room, there was a strong smell of smoke. I immediately brought this to the attention of the front desk and explained that my son is asthmatic, so the smell was a serious concern for us. I asked if we could move to another room. The response I received was that they could move us to another room, but that it would smell exactly the same as the one we were in, or we could move to a different room with an additional upcharge. I found this response quite concerning given the health issue I had just explained. In addition to this, the room was extremely hot and very uncomfortable to sleep in. We attempted to adjust the temperature in the room, but despite doing so, there was no noticeable change and the room remained very warm throughout the night.
