“Warm welcome and friendly staff, however quite a modest property even for a BnB and at this price point. Small room with very small shower. Fine breakfast but only instant freeze dried coffee, and few options if you don't want a fry up. Immediate area full of litter on streets (like most of Barry). I know this isn't their fault but it's a location point. Overall a fine place to stay but I'm surprised current reviews are quite so high -- afterall, a warm and friendly welcome should be expected……

“There were things I liked and didn’t like about this stay. The staff were really friendly, the drinks at the bar were cheap, the locals were really friendly and very social. The breakfast was good the next day and in hindsight, we should have had dinner here as it all looked home made and reasonably priced. The negatives were that the place itself is so rundown, I don’t know how it survives as we didn’t see any other guests. The whole place needs a makeover, including the outside area. The room……

“Quite basic room, no frills, but clean and tidy. Price reflects the standard of rooms. Little decoration issues, but nothing too major. Staff were absolutely brilliant, very helpful, polite and smart. Would definitely recommend the hotel if you're on a budget, but if you're after luxury, this wouldn't be the hotel for you. There's no eating facilities there, but a nice bar.”

“Myself and my partner were really impressed by the beautiful decor at Lanelay Hall the hotel and our room was very spacious - the biggest room I’ve ever had whilst staying at a hotel. The happy birthday treats and petals were a really kind lovely touch too. The location was disappointing as we pulled up to the hotel gates in a housing estate (our expectation was a countryside hotel). Also one of the skylight blinds was broken in our room and left a gaping hole of bright light into the room which……
