We stayed here when passing thru Virginia to head to South Carolina - This is an older hotel but very clean and good sized room and bed was comfortable, air conditioning set just right. We especially liked the continental breakfast spread set up by Pat and conversation with other friendly staff. Pat has been working here for 30 years and said new owners planning renovations. Parking was convenient next to the hotel with east side door entry. We did not get a chance to explore downtown, but hotel is located across from the performing arts theater - art deco and historic buildings nearby with various shops and some restaurants that we saw as we drove past. Affordable stay and we do recommend.

"The 3rd floor window which looked out toward the mountains were truly needing a GOOD cleaning was the only fault that I found. The front desk lady was truly a credit to your staff and the restaurant personnel went above and beyond to serve us."
