"The initial room we received had a very distinct musty odor to it. After showering my kids, I noticed the bottom of their feet were black from walking on the carpet in the room. In addition, we were placed on the side along highway which the walls nor windows drown the sound out. Our first night there we got little to no sleep due to the smell of room, the thought of how dirty the carpet were, the noise from the highway. I was already looking for other places to stay once the morning hit because we wouldn’t be able to do another night in that room. However, I called the front desk around 4am to ask if we could have a room change in the morning and explained to the gentleman in the front what was going on. He said he would make a note of it and would be able to switch me rooms once guest checked out. At 8am we received a message that they assigned us another room but wouldn’t be ready until 12pm, which was fine. When we got to our second room, it was a night and day difference. There was no smell. There was no sound from the highway. I’m not sure about the carpet because I didn’t allow my kids to be barefoot in the room. My recommendation would be to ask a room away from the highway when checking in. Also, we asked for addition towels and they mentioned they were also short of towel due to house keeping not keeping up with laundry."
