“Great hotel with lovely, well-maintained gardens and plenty of parking available. Staff were very friendly and helpful; breakfast was good with a wide selection of options. Good sized rooms with view of the garden; bathroom was clean and good quality toiletries were provided, but would benefit from an upgrade.”

“One thing I forgot about visiting the UK in a heatwave, older hotels do not have air conditioning, it was perpetually hot in the room. I asked for and received a very dusty pedestal fan which when turned on for the first time garnished the room in a cloud of dust. Room 16: Small things like loose wall sockets, loose and sagging shower curtain rail, fluid marks on the wall by the bed, open closet with very few hangers (for a longer stay such as mine) and, given that the window was always open for……
“This is a very old hotel and it feels quite run-down. The atmosphere was a bit scary, especially at night. It didn't feel very welcoming or comfortable, and I don't think it matched my expectations. I would recommend checking recent reviews and photos before booking.”
