Kick off your shoes and walk barefoot along the silvery sands of the beach, taking in the postcard-worthy vistas of sand and sea. The beach faces out directly to the ocean instead of the bay, giving you an excellent opportunity to admire the Atlantic waves as they roll in. Be sure to check out the towering sand dunes that border the beach as well.
If you are feeling a little more adventurous, enter the water. Surfers and swimmers frequent this beach and lifeguards are on duty during the summer. While you are here, you may also want to stop at the nearby Highland Lighthouse. This lighthouse is known for being the highest and oldest on Cape Cod. Its lofty tower offers visitors even more amazing views of the ocean.
Coast Guard Beach is a 30-minute drive from North Truro. There is limited parking and, during peak season, you’ll have to purchase a Truro Beach Parking Sticker. Disabled parking is also available.
