"A warm welcome at reception. On a very hot day it was wonderful to step into my room and find a fan on. All staff were friendly and helpful. My room was spotless and had everything I needed. The large bed was very comfortable. I had dinner and breakfast, both were very tasty. The dinner menu had an excellent selection of food. Free parking close to my room was very welcome. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for your excellent service and hospitality."

"Lovely old pub with an accommodation block at the rear. Further investment would return this place to it's obvious former glory, but for the price we paid we were pleasantly surprised with the quality we received and would absolutely stay again. Interesting plumbing, seemingly hot water from both taps (?!?) only added to the fun. Lovely service, brilliant Indian food, great location. The village is well worth a stroll around. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay."

"Bit of a regular here always normal business trip but ideal if your on a break local attractions Rutland water but Oakham is a nice un spoilt town. All self service but if you want a meal the hotel sits above a lovely restaurant and there are places in town to enjoy a coffee or full meal"

"Any port in a storm, ok for a quick overnight stay. Rooms very basic. Exit and entry via metal staircase, wife felt they were unsafe. Staff friendly enough. Didn’t do any food. "

"Was under the impression that the hotel was in Oakham but in reality it was 7- 8 miles away. This was not at all obvious when the booking was made. It might be a good idea to state this in the ad. The hotel itself was good. The menu in the dining room was very limited, but what was on the menu was cooked well. Shame about the taxi fare we had to pay getting back and fore to Oakham. "
