10/10 Exceptional! (5 reviews)
We stayed at the Sylvan Park Boarding House in Nashville this weekend, and y’all…what a find!
First of all, the location. We loved Sylvan Park. So many great restaurants nearby, sidewalks and bike lanes, mature trees, green space—it felt like an actual neighborhood instead of just a place tourists sleep between trips downtown. We could walk out the door and go somewhere good to eat, then come back and sit on the big front porch for a while, which we did. Several times.
And the boarding house itself was SO nice. The bedding felt luxurious, the shower was huge, the towels were thick and plush, and we had a mini fridge in our room. The dining room stayed stocked with snacks and drinks for guests throughout the day, which was such a nice little touch.
But let's talk about breakfast.
We expected "breakfast included." We did not expect BREAKFAST. It was so much better than we anticipated and just added to the whole experience.
I think what I loved most was that it didn't really feel like staying at a hotel. It felt a little more like staying in a beautiful old Nashville house where somebody had thought through all the things that would make you comfortable and then left you alone to enjoy them.
We spent more time than I expected sitting on that porch, watching people walk and bike through the neighborhood and just enjoying being there. Definitely one of those places that becomes part of the trip instead of just where you sleep at night.
