The Oswego Hotel

"The hotel was very convenient to the ferry and downtown Victoria. The rooms were clean and well stocked with towels, soap,shampoo,etc. Staff were very friendly and helpful and allowed us to keep our car in the convenient garage parking after we checked out and before we had to get to the ferry. There is a restaurant and bar on site but it is very small for the number of rooms so it is necessary to make reservations including for breakfast. We would definitely stay there again."

"A beautiful, relaxing stay at the Fairmont Empress. Perfect location, beautifully appointed rooms, comfortable beds and highly professional, friendly staff make for an excellent weekend away in Victoria. My only regret is that we couldn't stay longer."

"The hotel is a nice old building with plenty of character in a quiet residential area - the oldest part of Victoria. But that does also mean there is no lift and room layouts vary. Our room on the third floor was clean, comfortable and everything worked. We had an en suite bath/shower and toilet, with the wash basin in the bedroom. Tea and coffee is available in the lobby between 6.00am - 11am, but milk is not. The room had no tea/coffee making facilities but hot water was available upon request from reception. (There was a fridge in the room for your own milk but bring your own tea/coffee). Good breakfast choices from the on-site café - not included in the room rate. We wondered whether the on-site pub/bar might be noisy, but it wasn't. The hotel is close to Beacon Hill Park and is a 20-30 minute to Fisherman's Wharf and the same to the downtown centre. Always found a space in the car park. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, as were the staff in the café. We enjoyed our stay, the JBI made an excellent Victoria base."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at the Hotel Royal Scot. From the moment we checked in, the hospitality and welcoming atmosphere set the tone for a fantastic visit to Victoria. Our room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable, providing the perfect quiet retreat to relax after a full day out exploring. We especially appreciated the property’s amenities: The Hot Tub & Pool Area: The hot tub was clean, well-maintained, and ideal for unwinding in the evening. The Games Room: A standout feature! Having access to a dedicated game room with billiards and games added a fun, relaxed touch to our downtime. Location & Charm: Being within an easy walking distance to the Inner Harbour and local sights made getting around seamless. The Royal Scot balances classic charm with great practical comforts. We look forward to returning on our next trip to Victoria and gladly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, amenity-rich stay!"
