“There is no fan or air conditioning in the room. Thus, NO AIR circulation. Bring your own fan. The window opened but there was no screen and we were looking at garbage bins and dumpsters. Thus, we kept the window closed to avoid any bugs/flies from entering as well as any odours. There was rarely anyone at the front desk as they guys also had to look after the breakfast area and who knows what else. there is no counter space in the bathroom for any toiletries. attentive to any of our needs. I was hoping for a more authentic castle experience, but furnishings were basic and a bit worn out. “Have biked for a day, nothing better than a cup of tea and a hot shower. There was no kettle until one was produced after an hour and the shower remained cold during all our stay!
We also looked forward to a nice evening meal but owing to a large golfing party present it apparently was impossible to find a table for 2 and the nearest hotel / restaurant was closed due to a function.
This necessitated a long walk to find an evening meal!”

“Nice relaxing stay, if booking through 3rd party be careful of room designation offered we nearly fell foul of that as originally not as shown on booking and upon confirming with hotel found an error as hotel had put us in room 1/2 size at highest point in hotel best to book direct imo. “This was the best place we have ever stayed. One of the owners of this converted bank building greeted us personally and made us feel very welcome. The room and property were top notch. The location is amazing. There is so much to see here. Literally in direct sight of the Linlithgow Palace and church. An absolute dream of a place to stay. We cannot wait to come back! “First the pluses for the price point it’s a good value near the airport, parking readily available very convenient to a gas station and not too far away from Dave’s kitchen where you can get amazing bites to eat on the go. And one of the most important things, the sheets are clean, unstained and blanket nice and cozy. Now the bathroom needs refurbishment. The carpet are stained. Everything else is a little bit worn for where I’ve seen better years.”
