“This lodge is a one-of-a-kind 'hidden gem'! Location is peaceful, scenic & close to town & to historic New Salem. The two-story lobby is awesomely rustic with historical artifacts and numerous mounted 'deer heads'. There is a nice restaurant/bar on-site. The 'standard room' we stayed in was comfortable. Compliments to the manager for helpful information on the area & tour of the larger 'unique' suites at this lodge.”

“The shower was never real warm. Especially for the 2nd person having to shower. Plus flying ants covered the floor in room 125. Like they were coming through the air conditioner. My husband said they couldn't help that and probably not but it was kind of gross. They would land on you and they were dying once hitting the floor...strange.”

“The pool was closed, we were offered access to their sister property pool. I asked if I could transfer my room to the other property. I was told, no the room had already been paid at this facility. I asked further questions and received no clear answers. The morning of my check out that clerk was truthful and answered my questions from the previous night. We did use the other pool but had to drive to and from the pool. There were old blood stains on one of the sheets. It should have been……

“When I checked in I was required to pay a $100 refundable deposit for the room which was not in any of the emails or anything that they sent me leading up to the day of my stay. I paid the deposit in cash but everything else on my card. Once I checked out they told me that I would receive the deposit on my card within 4 days. I haven’t received the deposit and whenever I call they say the same thing.The room had a STRONG fragrance when i walked in my room from a plug in that was plugged in. The……
