"I had a very goos stay at the Tamarindo Diria Beach Resort and would definitely rate the hotel itself five stars. The property has two sections—one directly on the beach and another across the street, which is where I stayed. My room was fantastic, with high ceilings, a jacuzzi on the balcony, and a very quiet and relaxing atmosphere. The location is excellent and reminded me a little of Aruba in the sense that you can walk in almost any direction for a quarter mile or so and find shops, restaurants, and plenty of dining options. There is also a local church not too far away, which was nice to visit. The food in the area was a little hit or miss. While walking around, I was occasionally approached by people trying to sell things or even offering drugs, so certain parts of the surrounding area could feel a little sketchy at times. That being said, the hotel grounds themselves felt very safe, secure, and well monitored. The guests and many of the people around the property were extremely friendly. Some of the staff, however, didn’t always seem to fully embrace the warm “Pura Vida” spirit I expected. The hotel is about an hour from the airport, and the drive was a little tough in both directions. Still, considering the roughly four-and-a-half-hour flight, the overall trip was well worth it. The breakfast was very good also and not expensive if it wasn’t included in your package. A beautiful property, a fantastic room, and a great Costa Rica experience overall."
