"Incredibly cool Historical House. The hosts were great and only a few steps away if we needed anything from them or their local general store. The house was perfect and had everything we needed. It was cool to be in an 1800's house, relax in the parlor, eat dinner to candlelight in the wonderful dining room and have everything we needed in the kitchen to cook our in home meals. The hot tub was perfect for morning coffee and evenings under the stars. Plenty of room in the back yard for our dogs and even though we didn't use it, it was nice there was a firepit, supplied wood and camp chairs. The town was very cool and seems like a very tight nit, small community. Five minutes to Tappan Lake for some nice hikes and only 10 minutes from Clendening Lake. Had the weather been warmer, we would have brought our kayaks. Would definitely return in the summer to take advantage of the lakes. The leaves were just starting to turn so it was a beautiful fall weekend! A big thanks to the hosts for letting us stay! We had a relaxing time."

"This is a very cozy place with your own private lake/pond. The location is remote and quiet and there is no need to leave for any reason as long as you brought all your food and drink. The kitchen has everything you need for whatever you feel like making. There is plenty of property to get you and your dog’s exercise in, as well as a great fire pit, and a perfectly starry night sky. This was our second time here, the first time was dead of winter February, and we wanted to check it out in nicer weather. It did not disappoint!"

"Our stay was very nice. Rooms were clean, check in was easy. I did need to request a hair dryer from front desk and they originally weren't very helpful. Another employee who was taking care of the breakfast overheard and stepped into help and found me a hair dryer. She said front desk was new. So keep that in mind and be kind when there is a situation. We just don't know everyone's story. This was a good learning experience for the young lady. The breakfast area is a little small and fills up fast, but we just made our plate and ate in our room. I would definitely stay at another Microtel."

"The only problem was that I had booked a room with 2 beds and all they have there are rooms with one bed and a foldout couch. So Expedia should not have told me that my reservation was a room with 2 beds. I would have booked some other hotel with 2 beds. In the picture that Expedia showed me of the room, it had 2 queen beds. That is not how a company should treat a loyal customer."

"Very beautiful historic tavern. The rooms are on the second and third floor so after you check in the staff will shoe you to the room. It can be a bit confusing navigating the building but it is full of historic architecture and portraits of presidents that had visited before. We booked the smallest room which was very cozy and had a gorgeous view of the courtyard. The staff had laid out on a table some water bottles, coffee pods, and two cookies. There was no fridge or microwave in the smallest room, I'm not sure about the other rooms but it wasn't really needed for our stay anyways. The bathroom had a very old fashion blow dryer attached to the wall. It didn't work too well but it was fun to use. The bathroom also had its own seperate bidet. The following morning breakfast is served personally rather than a traditional hotel breakfast and the food was delicious. Highly recommend to stay for a couple's retreat but if you plan on dining in the restaurant, book reservations for your meal ahead of time as well when you book a room."
