Kahului Vacation Packages

The seat of Maui County is home to plentiful beaches, great weather and the amenities and convenience typical of an urbanized area.

Backed by the West Maui Mountains and next to a seemingly endless expanse of shore, Kahului, Maui is a big draw for visitors. Stroll along the shores under swaying palm trees or pay to fly over them on a helicopter tour of the island.

Like much of Hawaii, Kahului has its origins in the cultivation of sugar cane. Investigate this staple and the unique array of other Hawaiian plant life at the Maui Nui Botanical Garden in the center of town. This garden specializes in plants native to Hawaii. Relax on a calm walk through the garden while you develop knowledge of the plants you’re bound to see in the area.

Stop at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center. Here you will find the Schaefer International Gallery, which houses one of the island’s largest collections of publicly displayed art. Check to see whether an event is being performed at the center during your visit.

While you’re here, stop at the Aloha Friday Farmer’s Market for fresh treats. This is one of the best places in Maui for local produce and especially varieties of mushrooms, jellies and many other sweet products. On Saturday mornings, save a few hours for the Maui Swap Meet. Buy souvenirs for friends and family here, as the prices are less expensive than in other locations.

Detour to a wildlife refuge perfect for passing a sunny day, the Kanaha Wildlife Sanctuary. Spot endangered water birds including white-billed Hawaiian coot and brown koloa duck or simply take a solitary walk enjoying the saline air of the marshlands.

To get here, fly directly into Kahului Airport, the main hub of air travel for all of Maui. Rent a car at the airport to take advantage of the city. For more of an adventure, take a boat into Kahului Harbor.

Accommodation in Kahului

When it comes to booking accommodation in Kahului itself, you'll find that the list of available options is not extensive.

To make the most of your island getaway, consider booking a room at the Courtyard Maui Kahului Airport and Maui Beach Hotel.

The Kaanapali Beach is an important attraction to visitors to Kahului, and staying within easy walking distance is a good way to ensure you get the chance to fully appreciate it. The Puunoa Beach Estates is situated just 3 miles (5 kilometers) away. Another convenient option is the Kaanapali Alii.
