"Gorgeous house in the heart of Kirkby Stephen. Spotlessly clean with everything we needed. The weather was particularly bad when we came up so it was the perfect place for us to stay as it was so cosy. We cooked a couple of evenings in and had no problems doing it. The bed was so comfy and the shower was lovely and hot too! We spent a few days visiting the Iron Forge for drinks that took us about 2 minutes to get there. We also had their pre-book able meal cooked on a hot stone that was amazing....
"This definitely felt like home away from home! It had everything we needed and we were very comfortable. This gorgeous cottage is immaculate and spacious. It was easy to get to the Lake District and a bit of sightseeing locally as well. It is close to the supermarket and the Main Street with lots of food options. I loved being able to wake up and see peaceful countryside with sheep just across the road. The kids were absolutely delighted to see the sheep and some ducks at the stream nearby as...
"This cottage is a must, so relaxed and the owners who live next door are amazing, The property is fantastic, from opening the door you feel so welcomed, The garden is a haven for wildlife, I would highly recomend any one looking for a break short or long stay to not think twice of booking this, Its a credit to its owners"

This is a place that has been designed to make you feel at home. The rooms are tastefully decorated with colorful fabrics and interesting decorations. The pub is dog and human friendly and is a popular spot for locals. Jack, the Bernese Mountain dog is regularly present as he belongs to Kenny, one of the owners.

Right on the Main Street with a lovely pub/restaurant and very helpful staff. Our room was very nice, operable windows for a nice breeze while sleeping, a comfy bed and a well appointed bathroom. They were flexible about breakfast timing too, thank you so much! We had a lovely stay, highly recommend!

Great stay for two night break on the coast to Coast trail. Staff was friendly and helpful. Friday nights are very loud with karaoke so be prepared! Food was good, but basic pub food. Breakfast had several choices and the avocado and poached egg was especially good. There's an awesome Indian restaurant called the mango tree just a few buildings down. Laundromat behind the Black Bull hotel which was very convenient. About 6 pounds to run the washer and one or two for the dryer. There's a tourist...

There are not enough stars nor points to give this hotel! It is perfectly placed near the Lakes, but not so close as to be crowded. Our room was lovely, with all the right touches and amenities: great shower, comfy bed, and REAL COFFEE! The included breakfast is fantastic, and do not miss the restaurant (we ate there 3 times in 2 days), as the food is superb! Every staff member we encountered was delightful. We would go out of our way to stay there again!

Enjoyed a great 3 night stay at the Hideaway. This is a true Bed & Breakfast. Our bed was comfortable and our private bath had been nicely modernized with helpful shelves and racks. The breakfasts were prepared to order from a balanced menu. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. Due to the rain we did not get to enjoy the outside sitting area but it looked inviting. The bedroom itself was a bit tight, but we had small roller bags so we were able to situate everything - would have been...
