I do wish the water access had been improved, but I noticed that most water access points at the neighboring houses were either similar or even worse. "Diana was the perfect hostess. The property was exactly as described. The amenities such as the shop for paddle boards and other rentals, the fitness center and pool were all very easy to navigate and very clean and well maintained. The balcony was spacious and sits directly overlooking the pool and lake. We picked up groceries on the way in, since options on the island are a little limited. But driving up from north Houston, it was the perfect getaway within 3 hours, and entering the property gates it was easy to feel someplace else entirely. And yes, the deer really roam around just like the pictures. I hope I'll be able to leave a separate review for the gift shop, but if not, I have to say that Heather and Shane made renting equipment such a smooth and easy process. This was truly the most pleasant short getaway I've experienced in a long time. "
