“The Mermaid Inn is one of our favorite motels. The rooms are decorated with a Mermaid/nautical style with some retro appliances. Overall gives a very homey feeling. Rooms are very clean, staff is really friendly and helpful.
Situated between a gas station/store and a Mexican restaurant you have access to fresh food and all the amenities you might have forgotten to pack. Like much of the Long Beach peninsula, the Mermaid is quiet and laid back...but still in walking distance to "downtown" and……

“A nice place to stay (we've been a few times now), between the main thoroughfare and the beach. Things have improved over the years, although it appears there are some bits and pieces that are still in progress or need to be done (e.g., some paint chipping in the room). Third floor is best for views of the beach, but second floor isn't too bad either; ground floor is mostly the grassy knoll. Prices are very affordable. No breakfast (they had something years ago, but that's gone), but usually……
