“Food was great and bar was well kept. Bed was comfy so comfortable in fact I overslept! Such a good find, not overly pretentious just good quality, helpful staff and good food. Perfect for a business stop over. WiFi was also reliable.”

“Staff very friendly, room very clean. Unable to watch any tv as it was only able to receive radio channels! The member of staff on duty tried his best to help but couldn’t sort it out. No WiFi either.”

“The staff were so friendly and helpful, the room was perfect in every way. The walls are thick so no internal noise. The free breakfast was excellent. Oh and the dedicated parking space just topped it off. Highly recommend this pub as a place to stay. We stayed in room 2 with the queen bed. Oh and lastly, the Guinness was the best I'd had in Holmfirth 👍”

“Room 1 is extremely small, but was spotless and the bed extremely comfortable. There were too few staff. Service at dinner and the bar was very slow. Dinner wasn't as hot as it should have been. There was too much food on a small plate, I had to hunt under the chicken for my vegetables! Overall, it's quite expensive for food that although was delicious it wasn't hot and not served in a timely manner.”

“I did not get use of the room as the hotel was locked up despite calling and leaving messages there was no reply . I had the inconvenience of having to travel 12 miles to find another hotel .”

“Two bulbs were not working so clothes unit and te a are were in the dark.The bathroom rack was red rusty where the towels were placed.Bathroom shelf was chipped all way along the edge.Needs repairs.”

“Everything about our stay was very good. Lovely clean room with everything we needed. Large bath with very hot water . Kettle with tea, coffee , biscuits etc , hairdryer and iron. Dinner was good and the breakfasts were freshly prepared. We enjoyed our drinks in the bar and the prices were very reasonable. Staff Lovely and friendly, will certainly think of returning. ”

“Sehr schönes Hotel. Die Zimmer sind sauber und das Essen ist gut. Das Personal ist freundlich. Die Zeit zum einchecken ist mit 14 Uhr angegeben. Musste diesmal fast noch eine Stunde warten bis aufgemacht wurde. War nicht mein erster Aufenthalt dort und werde auch weiterhin dort übernachten.”

“Given the price we paid, I expected more. It says parking, but that is hit and miss, with parking permits issued, but several cars in the car park without them and therefore difficulty finding a space. The room although quite well presented was very small, more of the size I would have expected for a single room, not double. It was hot weather I know, but even with a fan running all the time, the temperature was unbearable and the window had restricted opening. The hot water temperature needs……

“The exterior of the hotel is lovely but once inside it’s very tired. The carpets are worn and stained. No air con or phone in the room. The tea/coffee was not refilled during the service. There is no lift in the section of hotel I was staying. The windows didn’t open much and the was no fan available. It was convenient for where I wanted to be. The staff I dealt with are very pleasant and there’s a large car park.”
