Surrounded by desert landscapes, this small oil town offers hiking trails through the Temblor Range with wildflower displays in spring. Nearby Taft's West Kern Oil Museum showcases the region's petroleum history with vintage equipment and a recreated 1930s boom town.
Even though it is an older building, the outside & inside rooms are nicely refurbished. Beds are very comfortable. We could have used a light block from bathroom sink to bed area, while one person uses sink, the light shines on other person in bed trying to sleep. That was only thing that could be better. Very friendly staff.

Having stayed at the Hummingbird Inn 5 years ago, we decided to stay again on our recent visit. We were not disappointed! The property is undergoing a renewal that is wonderful. The check-in area is beautiful and our host was wonderful. We were assigned to one of the bungalows. WOW. It was very new and modern. We loved the décor and the functionality as well. Very comfortable bed as well.
We will most definitely look forward to another visit hopefully in less than another 5 years.

The value for the price is excellent. The location is great and I love that it is pet friendly, however the only drawback to that is a garage can located near a side entrance door that also supplies the bags for pet dropping made it a bit stinky as you enter. Otherwise it was a wonderful stay. I highly recommend this for the value.

This is the perfect place if you are traveling between Northern and Southern California and just want a place to rest your head. It is directly off Hwy 5 so you don't lose any time getting to the hotel. The place is clean and has a free breakfast. There is an IHop nearby for a quick meal. There is a pool which is nice as it's almost always hot there. No complaints!
