Cosy and comfortable flat and extremely well located with easy access to shops and restaurants. It was an ideal base for us as we visited relatives in the area over the Christmas period. Lots to see and do in Melrose and beyond.
I was working and my timings were all over the place but the hotel did everything to ensure I went off with a good breakfast. The car park is a bit small and when I came in late I had problems getting into an empty bay.
Welcoming staff breakfast good full Scottish comfortable bed and room
We enjoyed our stay in The Stables and found it very comfortable and cosy. It also had a pretty outside area to sit too. Claire and Donald were very friendly hosts. Melrose is a beautiful town and lots to do there and in the surrounding area. You probably need a car.
I booked Saddlery Cottage for my family (2 adults, 3 children) as we couldn't accommodate them in our flat. If you are planning to visit the Melrose area then The Barn@ The Coachouse is a great place to stay. Donald and Claire are great hosts and are so welcoming you feel that you are staying with good friends.
The location of the hotel very good nice place to stay
A splendid place to stay. Comfortable and welcoming in a beautiful garden setting.
Claire and Donald's Stables Cottage was like a home away from home. Ideally situated for touring The Borders area. High level of comfort and amenities. Great garden. Highly recommended
No matter where you stand on the religious spectrum, step back and appreciate Melrose Abbey.
It is located 30 miles from Edinburgh, in an area known as Melrose.
Every so often, it's nice to really treat yourself. So if you're keen to find a place to stay with a bit more class and style, you ought to check out the Dryburgh Abbey Hotel, which is only 3 miles away.
Melrose Abbey is near some local spots where worn out visitors can get a quick pick-me up after a day of tours. Grab a seat with a view, get a coffee and get a caffeine fix at Greenhouse Cafe Melrose. When hunger comes knocking, have a meal at Marmions Brasserie. This place is also close. Take it easy with a stiff cocktail from Stockcheck.
