Toilet flooded. Lady wanted to be cheap and not call a plumber. I tried to unclog it may attempts, and I told her it still needed to look at a plumber. To solve problem. Never staying here again!!! It's a shame, even if is a nice location and place l, that experience sucked!

The place was ok. Good: The room was very clean. The fireplace was warm and cozy on a chilly night. Very quiet property, wasn’t woken by noise from road or other guests. Bad: The bed wasn’t good for my back issues being very firm without a pillow top, and normally I like firm. The pillows were cheap and thin. The refrigerator was so noisy we had to turn it off while sleeping. The fireplace timer has an annoying tick sound. The soap and body wash seemed to be heavily scented men’s products. The towels smelled very strongly like bleach.

This hotel is over priced for what you get (basically a room that's been cleaned with very basic amenities that you expect anywhere. It's a old style hotel with rooms that have been updated only to the extent that you can't call them shabby. The windows were opened when we arrived and it was obvious that they are trying to prevent mold. There is no breakfast and no fruit or other food items that you would expect to find in a $300/night room. Our sense was that the owner is just using this hotel as a coin operating machine where he provides the most basic hospitality service. At this price, go across the street and stay at Asilomar. You'll be closer to the ocean and you'll be staying at the fantastic campus designed by the great Julia Morgan.

Last week I had a very pleasant stay at Deer Haven Inn. It's location is at the quiet end of the peninsula, which I appreciate. Very short walk to Asilomar beach. My room had a small fridge and microwave, also a coffee maker. Very clean and very safe. Adequate parking. Nisha, who manned the front desk, is very pleasant and efficient. I love Pacific Grove, and Deer Haven is one of the more affordable options.

So check in was set for 4pm and we had arrived a little before 3pm to try and check in. Front desk checked us in, but told us the room wouldn't be ready for a few hours due to cleaning taking too long. I asked when a good time to return would be and was just told a few hours. She allowed us to use the restroom in the office and we walked to Asilomar beach which was about 10 mins away and had a great time there. We got back maybe 4:30/5-ish and the room was cleaned so we just got our stuff and made ourselves at home. We stayed 2 nights and both nights were relatively quiet but we could definitely hear the upstairs neighbors the second night. Checkout was a little confusing as the office is only open at 8am and we were trying to get going at ~7:45am. No one was in there and no one answered the phone when I called. There wasn't a clear place to leave the key cards, so I slid them under the window. Other things were the conditioner dispenser in the shower was broken and held up with masking tape so it fell off several times during our stay and the fireplace didn't work at all. Overall, I would say if you're looking for a cheap stay in a good location and have pets staying with you, this is a good choice. If you're looking for something a bit more in terms of amenities you should maybe look elsewhere.

We had a pretty basic king room. They are stingy with towels, and no wash cloths at all. No tissue boxes. Nasty little coffee maker. One suitcase stand. A dingy occasional chair.

Save your money and stay at Motel 6, the amenities there are the same or better. The big plus of this place is cleanliness other than that it is the worst place I have ever stayed. The staff were not attentive at all. Upon seeing there were barely any towels I called the front desk and she told me to go to the laundry room vs delivering them to our room. When we discovered the tv remote didn’t work we called the FD and they said to come to the office and we were given another remote that did not work and was told “oh well” by the front desk. The pictures on line are deceiving. The bed was ok, but not a pillow top like the ad claims. The pillows were very uncomfortable, basically pieces of foam shoved in a pillow case. The fireplace was a joke, turned it all the way up and it barely had a flame. Everything was bought as cheap as possible and it shows when you there. The mini fridge in the room froze my food and drinks, completely spoiling food we put in there. The room itself faced the street and we didn’t feel comfortable leaving the window open much and when we went it was hot and uncomfortable in the room. Overall I wish I would have saved money and stayed at Motel 6, I will not be back to this place.

Room 120 was very noisy because it was next to the stairs, also we could hear everything from the room above. The door to the bathroom goes off track when you shut it and it is very hard to open and I was nervous I would get stuck in there. The fireplace hardly had any flames (gas) so not sure if it needs to be fixed or if this as good as it gets, but it was hardly a fire.

The location is great but the property is pretty dumpy. You get the sense that the management only does the bare bones maintenance. I am a regular guest. I had booked 2 nights and asked to cancel the second night and get a credit for another night. It's been several days and I haven't gotten a response.

Safe, clean, quiet, comfortable, place to visit the area. Parking was right outside the door. Lush woodsy residencial neighborhood, walkable or bicycle, right beside Asilomar State Beach. 10 minute drive to Safeway and Luckys shopping centers for anything such as better coffee. Value gem. Stayed 3 years in a row.
