check the weather in the area, We made two trips to see Mount Rushmore, one day it was extremely clouded when we got there, and it was not as cloudy in Rapid City area. Second day was amazing and so worth making the trip back.

Parking is $10, if senior or vet $5. Cafe has reasonable priced food. Drive back way over from Custer State Park! 3 tunnels, view of Mt. Rushmore thru 1st and 3rd tunnel.
