We came for university open day so it was a flying visit The hotel And facilities were really great and varied. We didn’t realise so many good food options were available so we ate a quick rushed dinner near Durham station . Wish we had known about the dinner choices available at the hotel . Breakfast was really good with lots of choices. It was a shame we didn’t have time to enjoy everything on offer . Only problem for me was that the mattress was very old and saggy - this meant that I woke up with a back pain which then lasted for about a week or so . Might be worth management checking and replacing and worn out mattresses . Other than that it was great stay thank you staff .

Really enjoyed our brief stay here. The room was spacious and clan, all of the staff we spoke to were very helpful and friendly. They made all the guests feel welcome. There was a great choice at breakfast, and the food was cooked to order.

A very pleasant hotel, ideal for exploring Durham and Newcastle. Pros: helpful and friendly staff, a spacious and clean room, and a swimming pool. Unfortunately, there’s an extra charge for parking. From the outside, the building could be better maintained and cleaned (dirty window sills).
