Nice homey feel, good breakfast, great location. Very friendly receptionist.
The Melva Inn is located in a very calm and quiet neighborhood. The place was very lovely and clean.

Pleasant and not what I was expecting. It looks like a house instead of a hotel on the outside. Lol
My main problem about this place is that it had no elevator which I wasn't informed of until I arrived. I'm 64 & had to carry my suitcase up 3 flights of stairs. This place is too far from downtown NYC. It was about 15 subway stops from Times Square. Positives include 5 minute walk to subway & fantastic ...

Loved that this was not a large chain hotel. Small, quiet, private, clean with extremely helpful staff willing to go out of their way to help. Nothing better than waking up to a beautiful day looking out at the boats.

Very interesting historic home and owner. The home was renovated and preserved by the owner. She also was a wonderful host.
The access code is very unique No keys needed I didnt like the fliight of steps going up.welli guess it was located on second floor so no way of getting in
Free breakfast, BUT not on WEs. No provision for making our own coffee. No microwave. Refrig full of food, BUT unclear if OK to eat. No response from host if OK to eat food in frig. Use of stove off limits. OK to invite friends over to visit BUT can't use second floor sitting room (no obvious reason). ...
Not the best neighberhood. The kitchen is very dirty. The building is in bad shape. The room was clean and also the bathroom
This was a great deal for our stay in New York, very easy to get to the ferry terminal by bus.
