“My family stayed at Heron's Nest recently. My daughter's wedding was June 7 and we needed a place for family to stay at one location that was not a hotel. The pictures of the resort represent what each cottage looks like. Very clean, well appointed and very convenient to the wedding venue and the town of Coloma. The hosts were extremely helpful and responded quickly to any questions we had. They accommodated our requests without hesitation. Check in was easy since there is a keypad into each……

“This is probably the nicest property at which we've stayed. The place was spotless, in perfect repair and stocked with everything we could possibly need. The owner, Howard, was lightening fast in his responses to our questions and even had some excellent recommendations for boat rentals during our stay. We look forward to visiting again next year.”

“It was a really nice building and well maintained. I wish the location was a bit closer to things that could be walkable but the drive to St. Joe wasn't very long.”

“The room we had smelled like mold and mildew the entire stay. The floor was damp and turned the bottom of my socks black. The manager said the smell was outside but that was absolutely not true and it smelled even worse in the bathroom. They had a strong scented plug-in plugged into the wall behind the dresser, trying to cover the horrible smell. We had to unplug it as it was making us nauseous. We tried cracking the door to air it out (because the smell was constant and never let up), but they……

“This hotel has bed bugs and I did not find out till I had already checked out. So for anyone wanting to stay here I recommend you do not. Unless you want to take bed bugs home with you. While the staff was very nice I just can’t get over the bed bugs.”
