Our first room experience was disappointing due to cigarettes smelling and need the door knob need to be fix for safety. However, the costumer service was excellent. The staff quickly addressed our concerns and moved us to a much nicer room. Their prompt action turned a negative experience into a positive one

It’s great for the price room came with refrigerator and microwave and it was very clean. It’s a basic room but if you’re in town to go explore and you’re just sleeping there, it’s a great deal.

Decent place if I needed to stay somewhere in Phoenix for cheap. I would think about staying there again. Keep in mind that they want a cash deposit. Air conditioner is effective, I only question the last time they changed the filter. For the price I have to admit the place was very clean and had a nice smell.

The hotel did not feel family-friendly or safe. There was no visible security on the premises, and I noticed people who appeared to be intoxicated/drug-affected staying or loitering around the property, which made the environment uncomfortable. That said, the room was clean and the reception staff were polite and helpful. The main issue was the location, overall condition of the property, and the crowd—overall it felt unsafe.

Read all review from other people, I have nothing to add but great. We book at luxury suite with 2 queen beds and got a deal of $80/night. The property was taken care regulary and neat/clean.

The facilities are definitely dated but the price was very reasonable. More importantly to me.... the room was clean and the staff were courteous and helpful. I would definitely recommend Ocotillo, especially if you are budget concious.

The rooms were nice,clean and the areas was pretty love the nature vibe it was giving. But the few things I had an issue with was early check in fee was 20$ for each room. We weren’t told that when we called the hotel but found out right when we got there. Plus a 50$ deposit which was understandable but the early check in fee is just ridiculous honestly

Local residents told me sometime ago this apartment complex was referred to as the prison hotel. One can still notice why. But now it’s under a new management, and for the hotel rooms you can see the rebranding: wifi is 400 kbps, bathroom renovated, clean beds, new quiet AC units. Plenty of parking spaces. Security (cameras everywhere and guard on duty 24/7). Pet friendly. And at some point you realize that barbed wire and high fence is not for keeping you in but for keeping “them” out! :)

Ocotillo Apartments and Hotel is a unique hybrid property, part apartment and part hotel, just as the name suggests. If you go in understanding that it is a budget-friendly stay with minimal amenities, it delivers exactly that. We stayed five days and were content with our choice. The room was simple but adequate with a comfortable bed, a couple of outlets, a microwave, and a fridge. It worked well for what we needed. The bathroom included single-use shampoo and body lotion. It would be great to see the property keep its minimalist approach but add basic soap for washing hands and body. We were provided one roll of toilet paper initially and were able to get another at the front desk without issue. Overall, the property is fine and works well if your expectations align with a no-frills, value-focused stay. Sharing this to help future guests set expectations in advance. There is also a standard $100 deposit required at check-in.

Very good after hours security 4 check in, but

The security personnel was very accommodating and getting me checked in in the evening. The room had either crumbs or chips in the floor, there was a rather large hole between the door and the floor. The bedding looked as though as it was reused.
