"We have just returned home from spending four choice days at the HideAway for our three-generation (17-member) Family Reunion. It felt to us that our hosts had bent every effort to make us comfortable and welcome. The ample size and numerous rooms and nooks, inside and out provided both individual privacy and comfortable space for whole group gatherings. We had hired a professional photographer to document our Reunion, and she had no trouble finding beautiful settings and backdrops.Others have mentioned the well-supplied kitchen, and we agree that the kitchen is so completely and thoughtfully appointed that one could want for absolutely nothing. The beautiful pool and slide was a major source of entertainment and the elevated, several-level pool decks with various tables and chairs and lounges and fire pit provided a delightful venue for the whole group--both day and night. Finally, the owner/host and the wonderful property manager were delightful to work with. For all of these reasons and more, we are happy to give our enthusiastic recommendation for The Hideaway in Somerset without reservation. "

"We stayed here for a long weekend, a group of girls from our family. Games, cooking, baking, puzzles, laughs, so much wonderful time together. The home offered so many spaces to be together but also to break apart into small groups or have alone time. Plenty of sleeping space. AC worked amazing. Kitchen super updated and so large! Deck table was fun to hang out at. Near town and grocery - loved going to Placerville downtown for a few hours and also Blue Barn Provisions - both close to home. Quiet neighborhood, felt very safe. Beds cozy. All in all - super wonderful and owner was very attentive leading up to trip and during trip!"

"lovely place to go on long walks in both the mornings and the evenings with our dog. We saw deer wandering through the neighborhood almost every night. The house is clean and very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend. "

"The cabin was in a quiet area, very relaxing, easy walk to the river on private property. The owners left a free bottle of wine and it was well stocked with dishes, pots, and pans, seasonings, and a barbecue. there was a nice area for the dog to be able to run around and play in. They had movies available books and games, indoor and outdoor."

"Hubby didn't like how the shower in the master bedroom didn't heat quickly as it should. Hot tub is more like a warm tub, but a GREAT hottub. 2 Bucket seat style areas and 1 that gets your hips real good with the pressure. Really good tub! Heat not super hot tho. The house was almost 90 degrees when we checked in. Itd be nice if it was programmed to be cool if the owner has control over that. BUT that is a big ask lol! I loved the place. My hubby had the issues. Home is BIG. My bro, friend and me, my wife and daughter fit really well. Loved that we had access to the garage and their asks werent bad. Master bedroon door pushes open with wind bc it was open when we got home, but nothing gone. It seemed just older doors. Id rent again tho very spacuous. All of our cars/trucks fit"

"This was an excellent choice for a VRBO. Many members (younger) of our family were camping at Sly Park. The "older" relatives really enjoy being with them, however, want a home and cozy bed at night-- worked out perfect. "We’re from Los Angeles and didn’t know much about Placerville before our visit, but we were pleasantly surprised. There were plenty of activities nearby, and we enjoyed every single one. The house was spotless, and the owner was incredibly friendly. It was also conveniently close to downtown and local attractions.The only thing the house needs is a better WiFi. It’s super slow during our stay."
